It's not you, I don't think it was a well officiated game.

A lot of calls left me baffled tonight. Anyways, happy for the 2 pts.

Good call on Coots not being on IR too long .... I think it was you who called it.

What's the opinion on the Gudas hit here?

I still don't like Gudas's hit one bit. Whatever his intentions were...he cannonballed himself right into the knee on a low hit that was low from start to finish.

The fact that he was just suspended 2 months ago doesn't help his cause. But with the way suspensions work in this league, he will probably get off. I like Gudas, but I don't want that hit in the league. Gudas looked like he was tying his laces.

I think it may be time to give Manning a look, Gudas very easily could have cost us the game if they'd been playing a good team. I find Hakstols use of The Bellemore line baffling, is it me or are they getting way to much ice time? Weal would be an upgrade in the bottom six.

P.S. Provorov with a three point night, can't wait to see this kid in orange and black😜

PEB line was good tonight tbh. They earned it, even though I question their long term usage. I'd like to see Weal in place of Gagner or Laugton to 2LW and Weal to 3C. But I think Gagner is going to get the next couple weeks in, with the intention of trading him. Broadcast had same cryptic Hakstol quotes about needing skill, and he wants Gagner in to provide that. Which strikes me as code for, "Hexy wanna fourth rounder!"

As for Manning, he's played in 31 games this year. I think that's enough to get a look. I'd like to see Alt get a look. An actual RH d man who is bigger and probably plays more of an NHL game.

Well, Vinny with another PPG. Hextall (frank)ed up this one big time. If coach could've used him properly, he could've led us to the playoffs one ppg at a time.

Gudas is playing a few too many minutes and needs to take out those type of plays from his game. I do like him and what he brings. Ideally he'd be on the third pair playing under 15 minutes a game.

I like them with the "good" version of Medvedev. He is needed on the 2nd PP and his puck skills are really top notch. Maybe he needs a solid, steady partner and I'm not sure they've found who he works best with yet.

What the H-E-double hockey sticks was Gudas doing on that hit? Was he trying to blow out the other guy's knee?

I have mixed feelings on Gudas: I like the hard (clean) body checks and the fact that he never backs down. However, he often takes himself out of the play to make a hit and, for all his hard-nosed qualities, he isn't great at clearing the front of the net. All season I've been waffling on whether they should keep him, but I don't want a Matt Cooke on this team. I hope he gets at least 5 games.

He's an RFA. They'll keep him, unless he's traded. If they want him, they have him for at least another year. He really needs to pick his spots better though, and realize that the THREAT of a hit is perhaps even more effective than an actual hit.

I thought Gudas had a rough night. Not just getting tossed but bad pinches and hit attempts at bad times.

Team look different with Couturier. Schenn looks different when with Couturier. Seems more involved in the game when they are together.

Gagner was a non factor really. Nothing terrible but nothing real great. Big need is for a playmaking winger on that line.

Would have liked to see the 3rd line a little more.

Also I wonder what Montreal would want for Gallagher? I feel he would be a great addition to the Couturier line.

Just my thoughts.

I didn't really call it, I just said that just because he was placed on IR, doesn't mean he will be out long term.

Looked liked a mis-timed hip check and he semi-turtled to avoid Lessio's stick/knees hitting him in the head. There wasn't any knee on knee contact either -- I don't really see any intent to injure there.

(unlike that Marchand hit)

I don't think there is intent to injure, but it's simply a bad decision by Gudas. He should remove the hip check from his arsenal.

That's what I saw.

I actually think Lessio's knee did hit Gudas in the head.

I understand Gudas' role but last night he struggled in picking spots.
